MFAW-VT faculty member Rogelio Martinez‘s play Ping Pong, has been published by Broadway Play Publishing. Also, Rogelio’s new play Blind Date was part of this year’s Colorado Play Summit at the Denver Theater Center.
Scholastic’s Graphix imprint nabbed world rights to a YA graphic novel by MFAW-VT faculty member Sherri L. Smith‘s Pearl. Illustrated by Christine Norrie, the book, set in 1941, follows a 13-year-old Japanese-American girl visiting family in Japan when Pearl Harbor is attacked. The book is set to be published in 2018.
MFAW-VT faculty member Kenny Fries‘s book In the Province of the Gods will be published by the University of Wisconsin Press, Fall 2017. Kenny was a featured poet, part of “Sound and Cerement: Technologies of De-Cay,” an exhibition which was part of Stadtsprachen, a literature festival for non-German speaking Berlin.
MFAW-WA faculty member Beatrix Gates read in the “Above and Below Reading Series” at Jefferson Market Library in New York City.
“Beginners,” MFAW-VT faculty member Michael Klein‘s poem, has been chosen by the Academy of American Poets to be published as part of their Poem-a-Day project which e-mails a previously unpublished poem every day to an audience of thousands. The poem will be going out in January 2017.
