Embodied Knowing: Listening from the Inside Out

The Goddard Graduate Institute invites you to a presentation by Visiting Scholars Abbi Jaffe and Amanda Franz of The Everything Space in Montpelier, VT. Abbi and Amanda will explore embodied ways of knowing and activism. In a culture where silencing, domination and destruction are built into the fabric of a collective identity, it is a radical act to be an embodied human, who listens deeply and responds authentically and organically to what is within and around them. Being embodied creates resilient beings and relationships and allows for new patterns and creative responses to emerge. Embodied knowing creates space for transformation of ourselves and the world we live in. This presentation is free and open to the public.

Presenters:

Abbi Jaffe is an embodiment activist and teacher, bodyworker, social worker and community builder. Abbi inspires others to follow their own body’s curiosity and impulses, embrace grief and celebration, unleash their radiant resilience, and to be exquisite.

Amanda Franz organizes for, lives and breathes the interconnection of body and Earth. Through bodywork, education, facilitation, embodiment activism and community building, she invites people into the profound intelligence of their bodies and empowers them to bring that intelligence everywhere they go.
