Award-winning Author Rebecca Brown to Speak at Goddard College

Critically acclaimed novelist and essayist Rebecca Brown will be speaking at Goddard College’s MFA in Creative Writing Program on Saturday, February 16. She will read from her new cycle of short stories, Not Heaven, Somewhere Else (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2018), and will answer audience questions. A reception and book signing will immediately follow the reading.

ABOUT REBECCA BROWN

Rebecca Brown is the author of a dozen titles published in the US and abroad, including American Romances, The Last Time I Saw You, The Dogs, The Terrible Girls (all with City Lights Books), and The Gifts of the Body (HarperCollins). She has been awarded The Boston Book Review Award, The Lambda Literary Award, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award, two Washington State Book Awards, and a Stranger Genius Award, as well as grants from MacDowell, Yaddo, the Millay Colony, Hawthornden Castle, and The Breneman-Jaech Foundation. Her altered texts and installations have been exhibited in the Frye Art Museum, Hedreen Gallery, Arizona Center for Poetry, Simon Fraser Gallery (Vancouver, BC) and Shoreline Art Gallery. Her work has appeared in magazines and journals in the US, UK, and Japan, and her books have been translated into Japanese, German, Dutch, Norwegian, and Italian. Brown is an Emeritus member of the MFA faculty at Goddard College.

The Board of Directors for Goddard College have made the difficult decision to close the college at the end of the 2024 Spring term.  

 

Current Goddard students will have the opportunity to complete their degrees at the same tuition rate through a teach-out with like-minded institution, Prescott College. Updates and scholarship funds will be available in the coming weeks and months. Information will be posted to www.goddard.edu
