Sean Hayes’ Major U.S. Fall Tour Comes to Plainfield

Plainfield, VT — Goddard College Concerts and WGDR Community Radio present San Francisco-based songwriter Sean Hayes and Chicago-based duo Birds of Chicago on Saturday, November 3rd.

Sean Hayes is currently on a major U.S. fall tour to present his newly released album, “Before We Turn to Dust.”

Born in New York City and raised in North Carolina, Hayes plays a mix of traditional old-time bluegrass, Irish music, and original songs from Asheville, N.C. He traveled to San Francisco in 1992, where he has lived since.

He has toured with acts such as Ani DiFranco and the Cold War Kids. The San Francisco Chronicle calls Hayes “a singular urban/backwoods sound and vision… extraordinary…”

“As a performer,” says local singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, “it is really inspiring to see national musicians in Central Vermont, where I grew up. Sean Hayes is amazing; I’ve been a big fan of his for years.”

Sean Hayes is touring with Birds of Chicago, a duo the Chicago Sun-Times calls “two of the most compelling new voices in Americana roots music.”

Tickets for the November 3rd concert at the Haybarn Theatre at Goddard College are available at Buch Spieler Music in Montpelier for the advanced price of $15. They will be $20 the day of the show and only available at the door. Doors open at 7:00pm; Birds of Chicago performs at 8:00pm.
