Joseph Orange is a jazz musician having worked with The Newport Youth Band, Eddie Palmieri, Charley Palmieri, Lionel Hampton, Archie Shepp, Herbie Mann, Donald Byrd, Tito Puente, and many others. He is also a retired health insurance executive with senior management experience in Account Management, Staff Training, Marketing, Sales, and Organizational Development. He currently volunteers as a community advisor and fundraiser for the Bronx African-American History Project at Fordham University, and as a mentor for at-risk children in Columbia, Maryland. His awards and honors include the Outstanding Service Award, from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management; the ECHO Award from the Direct Marketing Association; the Chairman’s Award from the Public Employees Roundtable; and the Harlem YMCA Black Achiever Award.
Emeritus Status was awarded to Joseph Orange on Friday, October 13, 2022, from the Goddard College Board of Trustees. This award recognizes and appreciates Joe’s 13 years of service on the Board and honors his unwavering championship of the importance of Social Justice and Inclusion as a key component in the fulfillment of the stated mission of Goddard College.
