Requests through the catalog are disabled during residency, but requests can be made through the rest of the semester for everything except reference, archives, & physical copies of eBooks.     MERLOT Open Textbooks is a collection of open textbooks from the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT II) project, including those found in the Open Textbook Library and many more. Some may have associated costs for use/purchase. (available to anyone)

    Open Textbook Library has 160+ real, complete textbooks licensed so teachers and students can freely use, adapt, and distribute the material. Can be downloaded for no cost, or printed inexpensively. Open Textbook Library is a project of the University of Minnesota. (available to anyone)

    OpenStax College offers students 15 free, open-source, peer-reviewed, high-quality textbooks that meet scope and sequence requirements for most courses and are written by professional content developers. Can be downloaded for no cost, or printed inexpensively. (available to anyone)

    EBSCOhost Products

    EBSCOhost Research Products 4 cross-searchable research databases (Academic Search Complete, PsychARTICLES, GreenFILE, & Environment Complete) plus eBooks on EBSCO (see Books & eBooks section for those). (available with current Goddard ID)

    Academic Search Complete has more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. Also offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,400 journals. (available with current Goddard ID)

    PsycARTICLES from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains more than 153,000 articles from nearly 80 journals published by the APA, its imprint the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF), and from allied organizations including the Canadian Psychological Association and the Hogrefe Publishing Group. Includes all journal articles, book reviews, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1894 to the present and nearly all APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1.     EBSCO Environment Complete has 2.4 million+ records from more than 2,200 domestic & international titles going back to 1888 (including over 1,350 active core titles) as well as more than 190 monographs. Full text for over 920 journals. (available with current Goddard ID)

    GreenFILE provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. (available with current Goddard ID – a free version is available to anyone at www.greeninfoonline.com)

    JSTOR offers backfiles of 117 core academic journals in Arts and Sciences, social sciences and humanities.     Duende is the national literary journal of Goddard College’s BFA program. Along with issues published twice yearly, we regularly update our website with new stories, poems, & art. (available to anyone)

    Dark Matter: Women Witnessing publishes writing and visual art created in response to an age of massive species loss and ecological collapse. (available to anyone)

    Google Scholar is Google that weeds out most non-academic sources (beware of predatory journals and predatory publishers that may pop up in your searches when using Google Scholar or any general search engine). Though free materials are available, many are behind paywalls. If you are a current Goddard student, faculty, or staff member, don’t pay for articles! Request them through Interlibrary Loan

    ProQuest Dissertation Express has over 2 million abstracts & citations for graduate dissertations. Items in ProQuest are available for purchase by the researcher and not funded by the library.
