Goddard Graduate Institute – Temporary Faculty Position

Spring Semester 2019

The Goddard Graduate Institute (GGI) seeks a faculty member for one semester to work with graduate students in Social Innovation and Sustainability. The MA in Social Innovation and Sustainability prepares students to design strategic, interdisciplinary and resilient responses to complex social challenges, and to engage in professions or create initiatives where this expertise is applicable.

The successful candidate should have a strong theoretical interdisciplinary background in social innovation, sustainability, or a related field, as well as a history of scholarly activism and an understanding of real-world applications of inquiry in applied technology, environmental racism, renewable energy resources, and/or environmental science.

We welcome applications from members of groups traditionally underrepresented in the fields of social innovation and sustainability. Preference will be given to applicants with experience advising graduate students and demonstrated expertise teaching a diverse student body.

The faculty member will serve during the spring 2019 semester, and must attend residencyrelated events February 12-22, 2019, in Plainfield, Vermont. The anticipated student load is 4‐6 students.

The position is dependent upon enrollment.


Serve as a faculty member in the GGI program responsible for attending the spring 2019 residency, advise students, perform service to the program and College, and other responsibilities as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and job description. Supervision for this position is received from the Director.  Compensation is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement Faculty Salary Scale.
