Art Degrees & Programs at Goddard College
The Fine Arts are central to the human experience and Goddard College’s MFA and BFA programs put the student at the center of their learning and artistic practice. We ask each student: Who are you? What do you hope to accomplish? And how can we support your journey toward accomplishing those goals? We will help you navigate your creative practices and research while living your life. At Goddard, you learn the necessary critical and creative thinking skills to turn challenges into the very threads that will be woven into your particular art form and your voice in the community. Your story will unfold, and we will help you discover how to tell it and share it with the world.
BFA in Creative Writing
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Goddard College (BFAW) is an undergraduate degree program comprised of a community of learners, students, and faculty who aspire to integrate the following into their lives
MFA in Creative Writing
We believe in the power of your imagination. Since 1976, when Goddard College launched the nation’s first low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program, we have provided an enduring creative home for writers like you.
Socially Engaged Art
BFA students are encouraged to experiment with a range of mediums. They are encouraged to conceive purposeful and relevant projects and then develop the necessary artistic techniques for realizing them over the course of the design process. In this way, the elements of composition, form, and material practice are always approached in relationship to a student’s intention, context, and concept.
Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts
In the 21st century, every community needs to be a center of creative transformation and aesthetic engagement. Our low-residency MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts (MFAIA) enables you to advance your creative practice, remaining embedded in the place where you live.
