Jack Mayer is a pediatrician who lives in Rutland, Vermont. He is the son of Holocaust survivors and has written two books. The first, Life in A Jar, is a non-fiction account of the Polish social worker Irena Sendler who rescued Jewish children during World War II. She is an example of uncommon altruism.
