Democracy Now! Moves To Drive Time on WGDR, 12/9

Plainfield, Vt. — Starting on Monday, December 9th, WGDR’s flagship syndicated world news program, Democracy Now!, will move from its long running 10:00 a.m. slot, to a live airing during drive-time at 8:00 a.m., Mondays through Fridays.

The reasons for the move are many, but chief among them is our aim to serve listeners more effectively with live, breaking world news on WGDR and WGDH. In addition to this move, WGDR has replaced the second daily airing of Democracy Now! at 6:30 p.m. with the Thom Hartmann Program, offering listeners the only daily broadcast in VT of this hugely popular talk news program.

WGDR’s signature, daily local Public Affairs block, currently airing at 8:30 a.m., will now begin at 9:00 a.m.

In alignment with the station’s new commitment to serving the local listening community, listeners will find a local news magazine on WGDR starting at the end of January or beginning of February 2014. Most likely positioned midday on Fridays, this station production will feature weekly local news for Central Vermont and statewide. Stay tuned for final details on broadcast times.
