12/23/13 Update on Presidential Transition

The Board of Trustees has nearly completed the hiring process for Interim President.  Candidates were interviewed and met with interested members of the community over the last two weeks. We appreciate all of the comments that we have received and we will make an announcement about our selection as soon as possible.

As the selection process will not have been finalized by January 1st, the Board has appointed current Board Chair Avram Patt (pictured above) to serve as Acting President, starting on January 1st.  The appointment of Avram Patt, who is an alumnus and already familiar with the history and the current situation at Goddard, is the least disruptive, and most cost-effective manner of handling the leadership transition.

During his brief time as Acting President, Avram Patt will carry out the responsibilities of CEO of the college, will continue to be involved in union negotiations, fundraising contacts, and transition activities. He will work with senior staff in a manner consistent with current directions and activities and on transition to the Interim President.

Goddard is fortunate to have Avram Patt’s leadership at this time of transition.

Current Goddard students will have the opportunity to complete their degrees at the same tuition rate through a teach-out with like-minded institution, Prescott College. Updates and scholarship funds will be available in the coming weeks and months. Information will be posted to www.goddard.edu
