
Mary Johnson is the author of An Unquenchable Thirst: Following Mother Teresa in Search of Love, Service, and an Authentic Life. This memoir tells the story of Johnson’s twenty years as a Missionaries of Charity, the group commonly known as the Sisters of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. After leaving the sisters in 1997, Johnson completed a BA in English at Lamar University and an MFA in creative writing at Goddard College. She also married. Johnson’s need for support while writing was the inspiration behind the A Room of Her Own Foundation, a group that champions women writers. Johnson serves as Creative Director of AROHO’s retreats and is a fellow of the MacDowell Colony.
