Faculty:
MFAW-WA faculty member Micheline Aharonian Marcom, in collaboration with artist/writer Fowzia Karimi, will publish The Brick House this fall.  The book will be published by Awst Press.
In commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, The Progressive published MFAW-VT faculty member Kenny Fries’s “A Healing Tree: Remembering Hiroshima,” which is an adapted excerpt from In the Province of the Gods, which will be published by University of Wisconsin Press in September.  Also, In the Province of the Gods was included in Publishers Weekly‘s “Be Here Now” roundup of 10 fall armchair travel books to be published this fall.
MFAW faculty member Darrah Cloud has received a commission from New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), in partnership with the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Centenary Stage, to write Turning, a play about Ada Lunardoni, a gymnast who traveled with the women’s Olympic team to Germany in 1936.
The Guardian included MFAW-WA faculty member Bhanu Kapil’“Poem Dictated to Eric Trump at 3.46am After a Marathon Video Binge of Twilight and its Two Sequels” was one of 21 poems that  Donald Trump might like to see at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
MFAW-VT faculty member Deborah Brevoort’s comedies, The Poetry of Pizza and The Velvet Weapon, were published by No Passport Press.
Alumni and Students:
MFAW-VT alum Kristen Ringman‘s I Stole You:  Stories from the Fae, her second book, was published by Handtype Press.
MFAW alumna Nita Sweeney was  interviewed about her writing, teaching, and monthly newsletter (Write Now Newsletter) by Cynthia Rosi of Word Carver podcast. The half hour interview aired on WGRN 94.1 in central Ohio.
MFAW-VT student Diana Rush‘s poem “Take Me Back” was chosen to be included in the Warren Artist’s Market 2017 Anthology.
MFAW-VT student Anne Boaden has been selected as one of 50 writers to attend an Insight Day in mid-September called WriteNow Bristol in the southwest of England hosted by Penguin Random House UK.
MFAW-VT alumna Tanya Seale‘s short story “Dissolving Lori” was published in the Summer 2017 issue of Midwestern Gothic.  Tanya was also selected to be a part of Midwestern Gothic‘s contributor spotlight.
