Dare. Risk. Dream. Share. Ruminate.
How do we understand our place in the world, our responsibility to it, and our responsibility to each other? Clockhouse is an eclectic conversation about the work-in-progress of life—a soul arousal, a testing ground, a new community, a call for change. Join in.

DELICIOUS FOODS, by James Hannaham
DELICIOUS FOODS, by James Hannaham

Such is the mission of Clockhouse.  James Hannaham’s newest novel, Delicious Foods, asks us to examine our place in the world and our responsibility to it with almost every piece of food we choose, and he generously agreed to talk about it with Kathryn Cullen DuPont for the upcoming volume of Clockhouse. Their wide-ranging conversation covers modern slavery and its no-so-many differences from chattel slavery; his thoughts about the characters he so fully imagined falling into, enduring, and sometimes escaping their enslavement; the role of literature in cultivating understanding and empathy; and the place of art in a social justice quest. It is a wonderfully inspiring conversation, and we hope you’ll look forward to its appearance as our next featured interview.
The Summer 2015 volume of Clockhouse will be officially published, as the previous volumes have been, at a Reading & Reception during the first few days at the CWC Conference & Retreat. I hope you’ll join us to hear some of James Hannahan’s words, and others, chosen for this year’s Clockhouse.
