CLOCKWORKS Winter/Fall 2015
CLOCKWORKS Winter/Fall 2015

The current issue of Clockworks marks the 30th anniversary of the magazine that began as The Goddard Record.  As former director of alumni relations and Clockworks editor Sarah Hooker, details the record of magazine’s thirty years,
looking through the large notebook of archived issues is like time travel; it gives one a capsulized sense of all that has happened at Goddard in three decades, which is a great deal. Throughout major upheavals  and transitions, from Goddard V to the closing of the Residential Program, to Mark Schulman’s Third Century Plan and new academic programs, Clockworks has chronicled the ongoing story of Goddard and its people.
This issue of Clockworks continues that chronicling, with articles on radio station WGDR’s new website, the new Goddard’s MFAW/PEN Center USA partnership that provides emerging writers with a $10,000 scholarship, and notes about work by the following MFAW alums:

Danita Berg (MFAW ’07)

Susan Deer Cloud (MFAW ’11)

Gregory Comer (MFAW ’12)

Joseph Cosentino (MFAW ’94)

Johanna DeBiase (MFAW ’04)

Mark Doty (MFAW ’80)

Theresa Senato Edwards (MFAW ’07)

Kristi Leora Gansworth (MFAW’12)

Mary Karr (MFAW ‘80)

Synnika Lofton (MFAW ’06)

Chris Mackowski (MFAW ’01)

Colleen Mills (MFAW ’08)

Carla Norton (MFAW ’09)

Matthew Quick (MFAW ’07)

Kakwasi Somadhi (MFAW ’10)

Pat Valdata (MFAW ’91)

The current issue of Clockworks also contains an article about the inaugural Lighthouse Writers’ Conference and Retreat (February 12 – 15, 2016, on Goddard College’s Port Townsend, Washington, program site.    (Registration for LWC is at www.clockhousewriters.com through February 1, 2016.)

Samantha Kolber,  on its 30th anniversary, and we wish it many happy returns!  If you haven’t received a copy of this issue in the mail but would like to receive future issues, please  fill out Goddard’s Alumni Update Form.
