President Kenny made opening remarks at the Appreciation Ceremony. I had the great honor and pleasure of thanking all those who had been part of CWC’s first twenty years, and of extending special thanks to those who’d served in central ways.
Three of our Founders–Maureen Dunphy, Lucinda Garthwaite, and Chrystal Wing–were able to attend, and Maureen offered thoughts on behalf of the Founders.

In other news from the 20th Anniversary Celebration week, I stepped down as Lead Steward on July 6th, after the conclusion of festivities. It was of the greatest honors of my life to lead the Clockhouse Writers’ Conference through so much of its second decade, and I know that Lucy Turner–elected unanimously to succeed me–will do a wonderful job of leading CWC into its third decade. You’ll hear directly from Lucy in next week’s Writer in the World CWC posting but, for now, please join me in thanking Lucy and wishing her well in her new position: Her election is truly one more reason for all of us to celebrate! With every good wish and, again and always, heartfelt thanks, Kathryn Cullen-DuPont
