We are delighted to announce that Goddard recently received an anonymous gift of $200,000 (plus an additional $30,000 to cover grant administration costs) to establish an emergency fund for students in the MFA in Writing Program. MFAW students will be able to apply for a grant of up to $3,000 per semester to help with unforeseen financial hardships that are affecting them as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that might otherwise force them to withdraw from the program.

MFAW Program Director Elena Georgiou said, “This Emergency Fund for the MFA in Writing students whose lives have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is an extraordinary act of generosity. The awards will ensure that students, instead of abruptly ending their studies, will continue to realize the dreams that originally brought them to the Goddard MFAW program. Books will be finished! Plays will be performed!”

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of this donor, and the willingness to step up and help Goddard students in this challenging time.

If you would also like to support Goddard students who have been affected, please consider making a donation to the Corinne Mattuck Student Emergency Fund which is open to students across all of Goddard’s programs. Your gift could mean all the difference to a student who is currently without a paycheck to help them through this difficult time.

Important Announcement

The Board of Directors for Goddard College have made the difficult decision to close the college at the end of the 2024 Spring term.

Current Goddard students will have the opportunity to complete their degrees at the same tuition rate through a teach-out with like-minded institution, Prescott College. Updates and scholarship funds will be available in the coming weeks and months. Information will be posted to www.goddard.edu
