There will be a reading of Deborah Brevoort’s play The Blue-Sky Boys at the Bickford Theatre in Morristown, NJ on Monday March 2nd at 7 pm. The Blue-Sky Boys dramatizes the imaginative and unorthodox creative process used by the group of maverick NASA engineers to land a man on the moon. There are extended sequences that dramatize the “encounters” they had with such influences as Buck Rogers, Icarus, Galileo, Apollo, the Red Baron, Snoopy, Louis Leaky and others. A story about the intersection of creativity and science, The Blue-Sky Boys is a play in two acts with an all-male cast. The play was originally commissioned by the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Science and Technology project, where it received the Galileo Prize. The reading, which will be directed by Mikaela Casca, is part of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s STAGES 2015 Festival. The Bickford Theatre is located in the Morris Museum.
