Robert P. Kenny came to Goddard from Georgian Court University, where he was vice president for finance and administration. At Georgian Court he managed finance, human resources, information technology, facilities, security, special events, bursar, purchasing and general operations.
In his role at Georgian Court, he stewarded the institution through Hurricane Sandy and Nor-ester Athena activities; stepped into and helped to implement the Institutional Strategic Plan; and spearheaded four capital project proposals that brought in $8.4 million in state-granted funds.
Following the departure of Goddard President Mark Shulman, Kenny joined the Goddard community as acting president (May-June 2010). He was then executive vice president and vice president for finance & administration (2008 – 2011). In that latter role, worked with faculty and college leadership to create and implement a New Academic Initiatives Process leading to the launch of a number of new programs and he successfully negotiated the faculty union contract.
Kenny spent 14 years at Saint Michael’s College, where he held numerous leadership positions, including interim vice president for academic affairs, Saint Michael’s College (1998 – 1999); interim vice president for finance and administration, Saint Michael’s College (1999 – 2000); chair of the Department of Accounting & Business Administration, Saint Michael’s (1996 – 1998, 2001 – 2005).
His faculty appointments include the David LaMarche Professor of Business Administration & Accounting (2011 – 2012) and Professor of Business Administration and Accounting (1977 – 1998, 2000 – 2008), both at Saint Michael’s College.
Kenny earned a BA in mathematics, BS in business administration, and an MBA from the University of Vermont.
