Library Services

The library is located in the Eliot D. Pratt Center, a two-story building, which also houses administrative offices, WGDR, and a small gallery. The library strives to meet the research and information needs of the students and broader college community.

The Eliot D. Pratt Library offers services and resources in support of education and research in a hybrid in-person/virtual environment. The collection includes 35,000+ printed books, 110,000+ eBooks, and electronic access to journal publications. The Goddard Authors Special Collection includes 1,600+ titles by faculty, staff, trustees, current students, and alumni. The Archives house a collection of documents and artifacts related to Goddard’s history as a pioneer in progressive education. The Art Gallery features work of students and local artists. The library participates in the exchange of resources and services with other institutions and within networks as necessary to fill the research requests. Students are encouraged to attend research and library orientation workshops during their residencies. The library is committed to a user-centered approach in all aspects of services in the physical and virtual environment through the LITS Portal.

TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

The Information Technology team provides a number of services to students and faculty at the residency. For new students, IT offers an introduction to Goddard’s IT systems and services. For all students, IT conducts a Goddard Net 2.0 workshop, which goes beyond the basics of sending email and posting messages.

IT also provides instruction in and support for the Student Information System, Goddard Net 2.0, and general computer use. IT will help students and faculty get online with their laptop during residencies and ensure printing capabilities.  Information Technology staff continue to provide support and assistance to students and faculty throughout the semester though the LITS Portal.
