Goddard College seeks a Marketing Director to oversee and direct all marketing strategies of the College and to support enrollment/advancement activities. This exciting position initiates, develops, and executes internal and external College communications, including print and digital publications, social media, advertising, web content management, and a range of other marketing tools.
Responsibilities: This position provides integrated marketing leadership in support of enrollment, academic programs, and advancement; this includes: print advertising, digital advertising, earned media, events promotion, website management, social media, print publications, and media relations. Successful candidates will be able to develop and implement marketing strategies to ensure strong and steadily increasing inquiries, and bridge marketing (e.g. post inquiry drip marketing) to Admissions department functions. One must be able to collaborate closely with colleagues like the Director of Admissions to ensure optimal integration of Marketing and Admissions activity in the service of enrollment; and to collaborate closely with Advancement colleagues to support advancement activity with marketing strategies (e.g. social media).
Additionally, responsibilities include managing paid digital advertising, either directly or through vendors; serving as the lead content manager for College marketing materials, including writing, outsourcing, and editing; overseeing the development of print marketing materials for academic programs, in collaboration with the Director of Admissions and Program Directors; managing vendors as they relate to job responsibilities (graphic designers, printers, advertisers, publications, etc.); supporting the Office of the President with media relations, including providing counsel regarding public perception of the College, writing press releases, and reaching out to the media; finally, this position serves as a member of the Advancement and Enrollment Leadership Teams.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or closely related field; five years or more of experience in marketing and related activities, ideally in a higher education setting; strong planning, organizational, administrative, supervisory, and budget management skills; experience with website platform management, Google Analytics, email marketing, and other digital marketing tools. Additionally, qualified candidates will have the ability to work effectively with and represent the College to a broad range of individuals/groups within and outside of Goddard College. We seek candidates who possess experience with integrated marketing planning; an ability to handle multiple deadlines, along with short and long-term projects. Finally, candidates must have advanced interpersonal communications skills; excellent writing skills; be able to work effectively as part of a team and alone; and demonstrate sound judgment, reliability, and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or closely related field; strong background in higher education marketing and recruitment, particularly in a progressive, liberal arts context; experience with the current College website platform, email marketing software, and other platforms currently used for marketing at colleges; experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop; experience with photography and videography, including editing; and supervisory and management experience.
Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000 annually
