Faculty – MFA in Creative Writing Program (multiple positions)

Workload and compensation will vary depending on student enrollment and appointment and is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

POSITION TITLE & COMPENSATION

Part-Time Affiliated Faculty- $120.00 per Undergraduate Credit; $150.00 per Graduate Credit (multiple positions)

BASIC FUNCTION

Goddard College is seeking well-published authors and teachers to mentor in a low‐residency model for the Master of Fine Arts in Writing Programs. Each student’s program of study is self-directed, and the faculty member’s role includes mentoring/teaching in a one-on-one, directed, independent-study relationship. We are especially interested in playwrights/screenwriters and visual storytellers, as well as multi-genre authors. 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Attend residencies and be available for advising sessions and workshops, as well as other duties as assigned by director/lead faculty member. The faculty member’s role includes mentoring/teaching in a one-on-one, directed, independent-study relationship. We are especially interested in playwrights/screenwriters and visual storytellers, as well as multi-genre authors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will engage in Residency for spring 2022 between January 6-14 (Plainfield, VT) or February 10-19 (Port Townsend, WA). Applicants who have expertise and experience in a combination of two or more fields are preferred. We seek writers of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, and hybrid forms in their approach to the field. We are especially interested in playwrights/screenwriters and visual storytellers, as well as cross-genre authors. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An appropriate terminal degree; teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and participation in residencies; and subsequent supervision of, and extensive exchange with, students of diverse learning styles. Additionally, a culturally competent teaching approach with experience and commitment to student-centered, and progressive education, is important.
