Director of Information Technology

Full Time, Benefit Eligible

Goddard College seeks a Director of Information Technology to plan and direct the use of technology throughout the College.  This position is responsible for managing the IT team, vendor relationships, IT budget, hardware equipment, software licenses, and researching and implementing strategic technological solutions that support the College’s Strategic Technology Plan.

Organized, friendly individuals who enjoy working in an active environment are encouraged to apply.  Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities.  Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence and professionalism; effectively collaborate with internal/external constituents to ensure data reporting compliance; and have a proven aptitude to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of staff, faculty, and students.  Additionally, ideal candidates will have advanced experience with network security, server environments, and telecommunications systems.  Experience with the following are preferred:  College student information systems, intra/Internet web services (on Drupal, WordPress, and Google platforms), SonisWeb, and other systems, including:  SQL database, XML, CRM/info systems and transactional communication system, and third-party proprietary information systems.

This position requires active participation in various campus committees including:  Academic Council, Capital Planning Committee, Staff Management, HR Advisory Committee, and other committees upon invitation. This full-time position is based on our Plainfield, VT campus and is eligible for our generous benefits package.


Special Working Conditions:  The work schedule requires some holidays, evenings, weekends, and occasional emergency coverage.  Travel to our Port Townsend or Seattle, Washington educational sites is occasionally required.


Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science plus four or more years of experience in an Information Technology Manager role that included supervisory experience.

A Master’s degree in information technology or computer science, Microsoft certification(s), solid working knowledge of CCNA, Network+ and A+ certification, and experience in Higher Education settings, are preferred.

Salary Range:  $61,000 to $80,000
