Business & Human Resources Assistant

Goddard College has an exciting position opening for a Business & Human Resources Assistant. This important position will perform a variety of administrative tasks including data entry and database updates, invoicing and filing; holding primary responsibility for answering the college’s primary 800 number; and for directing callers, as appropriate.
Detailed duties include: performing day to day administrative tasks in support of the business and human resources offices, including invoicing for events and catering; identifying and following up on quality issues in telephone communications across the College; reporting any relevant telephone and communication problems to the CFAO. Additionally, the position will regularly back up and assist business and human resources staff members with various clerical/technical tasks related to the business and human resources office functions. Duties include performing tasks on financial and human resources databases; cross-training with business and human resources staff to ensure coverage of core tasks during planned or emergency absences; assisting in managing schedules; generating memos, e-mails, reports; responding clearly and accurately to requests for information; and maintaining Google based intranet sites for the business and human resources offices.
Required Qualifications Include:
An Associate’s Degree in business, human resources, accounting, or other appropriate discipline, plus two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, accounting, or other appropriate discipline. Additionally required is an ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; an ability to speak clearly and communicate courteously and efficiently with callers and visitors; good administrative and organizational skills; and a demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality in matters of the College.
Preferred Qualifications include:
Experience with ADP WorkforceNow or similar software; experience with accounting software; experience with Google sites and Google drive environments; experience in a higher education environment; and demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students, faculty, staff, and the greater community.
Salary Range: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
