BASIC FUNCTION: The Accounting Clerk will assist the Controller in maintaining the financial records of the college. The Accounting Clerk will assist with a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. This position will support the accounting and business operations in record keeping, accounts receivables and payables, payroll and reconciliations. The Accounting Clerk will assist in preparing and maintaining documents.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts routine data entry for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable and payroll
- Reviews documents that may include billing statements, invoices, payroll sheets, banquet event orders and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies
- Provides accounting support to the business office
- Assists in preparing account reconciliations as assigned by the Controller
- Assists in accounts receivable
- Assists in journal and data entry
- Maintains accounting records
- Compiles data
- Provides customer service to students, employees and other stakeholders
- Maintains and ensures the confidential treatment of office information, files, activities and contracts
- Provides support and/or back up for Finance operations as assigned by the Controller.
- Assists with audit processes
- Manages invoicing for non-student receivables
- Assist with answering telephones, including the college’s primary 800 line
- Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in Accounting
- One year of related experience
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems
- Good verbal communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite, and ADP WorkforceNow
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
