John McManus stories everywhere!

Fox Tooth Heart, John McManusYes, Goddard MFA faculty member John McManus has just returned to us after a year in South Africa on a Fulbright scholar grant, but living and teaching on another continent does not mean that he disappeared from publishing life.  John  has a new story collection called Fox Tooth Heart that’s forthcoming later this year from Sarabande Books. Several stories from it have been published recently or will appear soon: “Gainliness,” in Mcsweeney’s Quarterly #48; “Bugaboo,” in the Spring 2015 issue of The Oxford American; “Elephant Sanctuary,” originally published in The Literary Review last year and now featured in Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading.

Other stories in the book that have appeared in journals include “The Gnat Line,” published in storySouth in 2011, and “Blood Brothers,” in Press 53’s anthology Surreal South ’11. (This piece can be read online at Rusty Barnes’s literary blog Fried Chicken and Coffee.)

John has read from all these stories at MFAW-VT residencies over the last few years…lucky you who were there to listen!

Important Announcement

Current Goddard students will have the opportunity to complete their degrees at the same tuition rate through a teach-out with like-minded institution, Prescott College. Updates and scholarship funds will be available in the coming weeks and months. Information will be posted to www.goddard.edu
