Fundraising Success in Fiscal Year 2013

We can’t thank you enough! With the support of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, staff, foundations, and corporations, Goddard College raised a total of $602,558.83 in charitable gifts, grants,  sponsorships and miscellaneous income or the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013.

We were also successful in:

Matching a $50,000 challenge gift made by 3 anonymous donors.
Securing 50 new donors to help us secure a $5,000 challenge gift.

The $602,588 in gifts were both restricted and unrestricted and broke down primarily among the following categories:

The Annual Fund: $294,163.55. This is unrestricted and critically important support for Goddard’s general operating budget and funds the salaries of faculty and staff, financial aid, building and grounds maintenance, Dining Hall operations, garden maintenance, and more.

Scholarship Support: $39,504 for both current use and endowed scholarship funding.

Sponsorships: $21,050 for WGDR underwriting, Goddard College Concerts and the Alternative Media Conference.

Fund for Experiments and New Initiatives: $25,250.

Curriculum Development Fund: $25,000.

Foundation Support: $106,069 from foundations for WGDR Radio, the Goddard Arts Initiative, Haybarn Theatre, Design Build Initiative, and more.

The Corinne Mattuck and Employee Sponsored Student Emergency Fund: $4,940.

WGDR Annual Fund: $ 28,506.

WGDR/Goddard College Concerts: $28,135.40 in miscellaneous income.

Gifts in Kind: $12,768.47 for Goddard Art Gallery at 54 Main Street and WGDR.

Restricted Gifts: $13,040 from individual donors to support the Goddard Arts Initiative, Haybarn Theatre Renovation, Design Build Initiative, Playwright Endowment Fund, and Sustainable Business Competition.

In the year ahead we have even more ambitious goals for expanding Goddard’s philanthropic program.  Participation from alumni helps us leverage other giving, and philanthropy is critical to our budget.

Thank you to our loyal friends and supporters, and please be in touch with Lauren Moye, Chief Advancement Officer at or 802.322.1732 at any time with any questions or comments.
