Port Townsend, Washington Housing and Meals

Castle DormGoddard College offers low residency MFA programs in Creative Writing, and Interdisciplinary Arts at its Port Townsend, Washington residency site. Students and faculty attend two eight-day residencies a year at the Fort Worden State Park Conference Center in Port Townsend, WA.

Housing at the Port Townsend residency is in renovated Officers’ Quarters.  Most are two-story duplexes and the majority of rooms are single occupancy.  Buildings have furnished common areas, including large tables and ready-to-use kitchens.

Meals are provided in the Commons, a spacious facility offering cafeteria-style meals, as well as a Café open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  The Commons serves meat, vegetarian and vegan options at each meal. The Commons staff works hard to respond to special dietary needs.

Campus Safety

In addition to Goddard on-call staff, security at Fort Worden State Park is provided by two night rangers. The rangers reside at Fort Worden, patrol the grounds, and are available to assist students with facility or medical emergencies during the night.
