MA in Education and Licensure

Individualized Studies

The course of study in the low-residency MA in Education and Licensure Program is self-designed and centered on the student’s individual area of inquiry and personal goals. Students in the program draw on their own experience in education, whether it is from previous formal studies, work-related training, practice in the field, or personal research and study.

Non-licensure students in the low-residency MA in Education and Licensure Program can choose to pursue individualized studies in education. Students interested in individualized studies actively define their area of inquiry, such as a democratic education curriculum for kindergarten students, place-based education, living history, or community outreach programs.
