Goddard Undergraduate alumnus, Gunner Scott (IBA '09), let us know about a wonderful opportunity for current and prospective Goddard students - please spread the word!
Gunner was formerly Executive Director of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition, where he led the successful Transgender Equal Rights campaign. Gunner recently moved to Seattle to join the Pride Foundation as Director of Programs. One of Gunner's new roles is overseeing the Pride Foundation Scholarships, which have supported Goddard students in the past.
As they describe on their website, the Pride Foundation "provides post-secondary educational scholarships to current and future leaders in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington." The average scholarship amount last year was $4,300 and can include support for an accredited college or graduate school.
The Pride Foundation scholarship application is open each year from mid October – January. Exact dates will be posted in early Fall 2014. Read more about the scholarships here.
