Donations to The Eliot D. Pratt LibraryThe Eliot D. Pratt Library at Goddard College supports the Goddard curriculum, information needs and the intellectual interests of students, faculty and the broader community. It includes material with diversity of appeal, allowing for the presentation of many different points of view. Additions to the collection are made with these goals in mind.
Graduates and friends of the college often donate books to the library, contributing to a rich collection across many disciplines. Goddard College accepts gifts of books, or collections of books, but donors should keep the following in mind when contemplating their gift:
1. Decisions concerning acquisitions to the collection rests with the library staff, and will be made according to their selection criteria, such as consistency with educational goals of the college, standards of quality in factual content, presentation, appropriateness of materials and curriculum needs.
2. If books cannot be added to the library collection, Goddard College will offer them for sale to the community, with proceeds going to the library budget.
3. In the event that the donated book(s) cannot be either added to the collection or sold, Goddard College will dispose of the items.
4. Goddard College does not assign a monetary value or perform appraisals of gifts. |
