Keith Hennessy is a performer, choreographer, teacher and organizer based in San Francisco whose work attempts to re-frame and disrupt the limitations of art for social change. |

Wed | 6:30 pm | Hide Oshiro, a 101-year-old Japanese artist, recently donated his life’s work to Goddard. Oshiro learned the art of etching, Japanese “ukiyoe” woodcuts, gold carving, sculpture and brushwork at AyoamaGakuin Senior High School and Sophia University in Japan. This exhibition at Goddard College will be the most comprehensive treatment of the artist’s work ever presented.

7:30 pm | The MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts program is proud to welcome visiting artist Rick Lowe to the Spring 2012 Port Townsend residency. Lowe will share his art and discuss his experience of "working in the public sphere," reflecting upon the ethics, opportunities and unique approach he has developed over many years of community-based practice. A question and answer period and an informal reception follow. |
Wed | 1:30 pm | Pacific Northwest artists Shaun Peterson and Steve Brown are both master carvers working in Northwest Native traditions, one Native and the other non-Native. In this panel event, the artists will share their work and discuss their experiences of the often complex ethical questions surrounding cultural traditions and "appropriation" in the arts. Audience is invited into facilitated conversation around the issues raised. |
