Goddard College seeks an Information and Network Systems Support Analyst to provide technical support to College IT infrastructure and its users (students, faculty, and staff). Primary infrastructure support focus will be on the College networks, network security, and providing recommendations for improvements thereto. In addition, this position will also work with other members of the IT Department to support and administer College servers and applications. This infrastructure consists of commercial, open source, and custom software running on Linux and Microsoft Windows servers in a virtualized (VMWare) environment. Finally, this position will provide user support to the Goddard College community in a highly heterogeneous “bring your own device” environment.
The requirements for this position include: assist in managing day-to-day operations of computer networks, including wired and wireless LANs with Internet connectivity; provide recommendations to the IT Director that will improve network performance and security, as well as to maximize adherence to best practices; ensure all updates and other network functions are performed in a timely manner; manage the integration of internal systems and databases and recommend improvements to reduce redundancies and modernize/secure servers and systems; work with internal/external constituents to ensure that data reporting needs are identified; assist in the generation of reports to ensure compliance with regulations and standards (i.e.: NEASC, NPSAS, VT State Emergency 911, etc.); collaborate with IT staff to creatively solve problems, to continuously improve services to all constituents (students, staff and faculty), and to develop new IT initiatives; and act as a member of the support rotation schedule during residencies including some weekend support hours. The frequency of weekend work is roughly one day in two out of every five weekends when residency periods are ongoing.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $40,800 to $43,800, depending on experience
